For the user that goes to turn on the computer and nothing happens. The computer is completely dead and won’t even boot. In most cases the user will panic and start calling every number associated with the system. However by taking a few steps you might find the problem is minor and easily fixed.

The most odvious, is the computer plugged in? You would be surprised how often the pet or a stray foot might accidently knock out the plug. If the computer is booted from the keyboard, check and ensure the keyboard is firmly attached to the tower. The surge protector should also be tested with another appliance to see if it is working properly. If it has a reset switch go ahead and try that.

Listen carefully to the PC. Is the fan running? Then perhaps the issue is the monitor connection. Be sure the monitor is fastened securely to the back of the tower.
